My Two New Beauty Obsessions

Happy Saturday loves! Today I'm sharing two inexpensive items I'm loving right now for my skin!

The Jade Stone!

It's believed in Chinese medicine that the jade stone has healing properties, and it's also known as the stone of eternal youth! So why not incorporate it into your skincare regimen, right? Here's the two items I'm using and loving:

Jade Facial Roller

  • it helps to remove excess fluid under the eyes (goodbye bags)!
  • i keep it in the freezer and use in the morning to help any puffiness in my face, especially under the eye area
  • so refreshing- it's a nice pick me up in the morning

Jade Gua Sha Stone

  • drains the lymphatic system in your face
  • i use at night before bed once i've put on my moisturizer

Why I love these two products:

  • It only takes a few minutes a day to do.
  • I've noticed a difference in my skin (texture and my fine lines on my forehead are less visible)
  • Both cost less than $20!!
  • It's a natural and safe way to improve the look of your skin
  • Both increase blood flow which makes your skin glow
  • Both relieve tension in the muscles which help with smoothing wrinkles

TIPS: I put my moisturizer on first. It helps to glide the stone along your skin, especially with the jade stone. And I feel like it really sets my moisturizer in.

Give it a try for at least two weeks  DAILY.

Most people I've seen that use both items prefer the stone ( I do too.) But the roller is nice for my puffy under eyes in the AM.

You don't need to use a lot of pressure when using the roller and stone. It should be gentle and relaxing.

Here's the direction in which you should use to drain the lymphatic system properly.

Let me know if you try these out!

My current face creams

Face Creams

Happy February everyone! ♡ I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while.  January wasn't the greatest month for us. We ended up catching that awful flu going around (I think I mentioned that before). Being pregnant and sick is the worst. It took me two weeks to start to feel back to normal. I no longer started feeling better and I got the terrible news my grandfather passed away.  So I'm hoping February is a better month for us.
Anyways, sorry for the life update! Getting back to it,  this post is about face creams. I'm always looking for a good face cream, and  good facial products in general. I believe face products are one thing you should splurge on. Here's a few creams I've been using lately and my opinion on them.

Note: My skin is normal/dry. Sometimes in the summer my t-zone will get oily though.

$39
For normal, oily, combination

  • I really like this moisturizer. I use it before putting on my makeup because it blurs imperfections. It's supposed to be matte for oiliness but it still feels hydrating which I really like since my skin can be a bit dryer, especially in the winter.

$48
For all skin types

  • I also really like this moisturizer. I think this one might be my favourite out of the three I've been using. It's supposed to be good for dryness, uneven skin tone and uneven texture. I find it does help with all three. It's not heavy and makes my skin feel smooth and moisturized.

$82
For all skin types

  • I'm not sure why exactly I bought this. I had heard really good reviews on this cream and the brand. It says it's good for all skin types but I think you really only benefit from it if you have oily skin. It's supposed to tighten pores and leave your skin smooth, but I feel like it doesn't even penetrate my skin since it's a water cream. It just kind of slips on your face. For the price I was expecting a lot more.

Here's some other creams I've tried and liked or want to try:

Have you ladies tried any of these creams? Or which ones are your favourites? Let me know!

Bite Beauty's Matte Creme Lip Crayon Review

Hi friends! I recently was able to try out Bite Beauty's Matte Creme Lip Crayons through Influenster.
(I've talked about this company before in a blog post, but you get to try stuff out for free and review the products.) #TheMatteCremeLip #Contest

I received the colors, Cava, Glace and Red Velvet. My skin tone is between light/medium and all the colors worked for me. My everyday favorite color was Cava (it's a really pretty mauve.)

I made a post on Instagram but I thought I'd talk a bit more about these on here. Here's why I like the products AND the company:
  • They're Canadian!
  • They're natural products
  • Even though the crayons are matte, they were hydrating
  • They lasted a long time
  • They have a bunch of colors to choose from
You should definitely check out the company if you haven't heard of @BiteBeauty yet. Also, if you want to try products out for free, check out @Influenster.

P.S. Happy Thanksgiving to my american friends!

First Aid Beauty

Today I thought I'd share my thoughts about these First Aid Beauty products I've recently been using.   This is my first time using anything from First Aid Beauty,  and I have to admit, I'm loving it so far.

I'm not sure what's been going on with my skin lately but for the past couple of months I've been breaking out like a teenager.  I'm not sure why.  I am still breastfeeding, so I'm not sure if it has anything to do with that. Hormones?!
Anyways,  I've been using the FAB cleanser, moisturizer, oil and face mask for just over a week now and I've noticed a huge improvement in my skin. My breakouts have all cleared up.  Yayy!

I definitely recommend this skin care line. It's reasonably priced and doesn't have a lot of those nasty chemicals in it.

Ipsy! It's finally here! 🎉

So my Ipsy package has finally arrived! Yay!!
I've been waiting anxiously for this all week! Or two?
Anyways, it comes in this pretty packaging:

And once opened you get a postcard and  this cute makeup bag filled with goodies:

Here's what I got this month in my glambag:

And here's what I thought about each product:

•I'm all for bronzers but this one was a bit too dark for my skin tone. Same for the blush. And I usually go for pink or peachy blushes.

• I didn't select fragrances on the survey but I still got some. I'll admit, this one smells really nice though. I love fresh, clean scents.

• Here's another item I didn't select on the survey. I'm not huge into lip liners or lipsticks unless I have a fancy event. I did try this one, and although it's not really a shade I would wear, it lasted all day and I felt was a good product. If you want a good lip liner that is.

• So here's a product I loved! You can never go wrong with a good lip balm. And bonus it's organic.

• This mascara is actually really good if you're looking for lengthy lashes.

And that's it! I'm on the fence right now about Ipsy. I'll see what the June bag is like and then decide whether I want to cancel or not.

Back at it.

I haven't blogged in quite a while and I missed it, so I figured why not give it a try again!
I thought I'd blog about some of my favourite beauty products I used all summer.

Being that it's the first day of fall-we'll make it a Farewell to Summer Beauty Haul! (Although everything can still be used in fall and winter) And yes, I will try and link everything for you babes.

Elf Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder- St Lucia - This is one of the best blush/bronzer combo's I've ever used. The blush is so pretty for any season, and the bronzer is awesome (not orange or dirty looking) I've linked it above, but you can also buy it at Target....for $4!!!!! Yes, that's right. $4! For that price you should atleast try it.

Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil - Okay, so I bought this because Miranda Kerr swears by Rosehip oil. I mean look at her, that skin is so dewy and perfect. Also, if you're into British reality tv shows like I am, Fern from TOWIE also bought this because Miranda Kerr was raving about it. So my experience with it...I was also using a new cleanser while I was using this and I ended up breaking out. I'm not sure what it was from, either this oil or the cleanser, so I stopped using both. I'm going to give it another try soon and see what happens. If anyone has tried this or does try this, let me know  your results please!

Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume- Being a hair stylist, I know the #1 rule to healthy hair is: DON'T WASH IT EVERYDAY! So for my in between days I use this dry shampoo because I have fine hair and I'm not a fan of having flat hair. This is one of the best dry shampoo's I've used so far, and I'm big on dry shampoo. I've used a lot. It smells good, gets rid of that oil, gives volume and it's under $10.

Big Sexy Hair Root Pump - Okay, so now for the days when I DO wash my hair. I don't use much product in my hair, this is actually the only thing I put in it after it's just been washed. If I don't my hair falls flat within an hour. Fine hair problems, right? So I use this mousse while my hair is still damp, just before I blow dry. Volume tip-always lift the root up while drying. It's usually best to over direct the hair. Anyways, this stuff smells good and gives volume and texture to my hair.

be Delectable triple moisture BODY LOTION-Do you guys love the brand Cake as much as I do? Well this line is one of theirs! It's coconut and cream and smells so delicious. It's a really nice lotion also. I bought this at Target, and I wish I would have grabbed more products because I really, really love this lotion.

Nip & Fab Glycolic Scrub Fix- This is an exfoliant with glycolic and salicylic acids to refine, brighten + renew skin! Being in my 30's it was time I hopped on the glycolic bandwagon. So I tried this scrub out, and I really like it. I want to actually try the whole line. Kylie Jenner is a huge fan of it. So it must be amazing, right??

Well, that's all I've got right now. Hope you enjoyed my picks and try some if you haven't already! If you do, let me know what you think!!

Night! xo
